‘The Music of John Denver’ @ The Trinity Theatre, Tunbridge Wells @ Trinity Theatre
Apr 4 @ 8:00 pm – 10:15 pm

The real spirit of the music of John Denver is captured beautifully by Chris Bannister. Chris has been touring   with his solo show since    2010   and, having performed around the world, he is now internationally applauded   for his delivery of some of the best songs ever written.

An evening with Chris Bannister is an evening of rare quality. Whether it is showcasing the exceptional   talent of this singer-songwriter with his self-penned collection of songs, his covers of much-loved classics or   undiscovered folk songs or his simply stunning tribute to the music of John Denver, it is easy to see how he   has gained an international reputation which has delighted fans for over two decades.

Chris was honoured to be asked to perform in Colorado in October    2012   for the annual celebration of John   Denver’s life and work, and performed several concerts with Steve Weisberg who was John Denver’s lead   guitar player on all his ‘70s platinum albums.

This show is a true tribute to the music genius of John Denver and as Weisberg says about Chris’s   performances: “…all the magic is there.

‘The Music of John Denver’ @ Barton Seagrave Festival of Music TO BE RESCHEDULED @ St Botolph's Church
May 20 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

In 1120-22, Geoffrey de Clinton is recorded as having built on the current site of St Botolph’s in Barton Seagrave, a church with Norman architecture.  There may well have been an earlier building on the site, but we can be sure that by 2020, there will have been a Christian presence in Barton Seagrave for at least 900 years.  So, to celebrate 900 plus years of association between church and community, there will be a series of special activities and events throughout 2020.  We are calling this series Festival 900+.

These Festival of Music concerts constitute one part of Festival 900+.  There will be six concerts during the course of two weeks in May 2020 (8th – 20th), each showcasing a different genre of music – Fiori Musicali performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons plus vocal interludes (sold through www.fiori-musicali.com), Rushden Town Band playing music we know and love with their own special style, Reflections Strings playing popular light classics, The Frenchman Street Jazz Band playing Traditional Jazz at its best, The Rutland Wind Ensemble performing a varied programme including the beautiful Petit Symphonie by Gounod, and finally Chris Bannister whose tribute act to John Denver is one of the best there is.
